結果けっか

as a result of ..., as a consequence of ..., after ..., following ...

Verb Past Tense + 結果

This structure uses the noun '結果(けっか)' to indicate that a certain situation or action occurred as a direct result of a previous action or state. It is often used in formal or written contexts to describe consequences.

Verb (Past Tense) + 結果

The plain past tense of a verb is followed directly by '結果(けっか)' to show that the result came from that specific action.

As a result of practicing every day, I became able to swim.

As a result of talking with my family, I decided to go to university.

Note

When using a verb before 'けっか', it must be in the plain past tense (た form) because the action leading to the result has already been completed. This grammar point focuses on the outcome rather than the process.

Noun + の結果

This structure connects a noun to 'けっか' using the particle 'の'. It indicates that the following statement is the outcome of the event or state described by the first noun.

A noun is connected to 'けっか' using the possessive particle 'の'.

As a result of the investigation, the truth was revealed.

As a result of the game, our team won.

Note

The noun used before 'のけっか' usually represents an action, a process, or an event like 'investigation', 'test', or 'meeting'.
