Noun + に従って / に従い

This formation is used when a change or action follows a specific rule, plan, or a noun that implies a process of change.

When used with nouns like 'rule' or 'instruction', it means 'in accordance with' or 'following'. When used with nouns that imply change (like 'growth'), it means 'in proportion to'.
