Used as a conjunction at the beginning of a sentence to show that the previous statement is the direct cause or reason for the current statement.

Connecting Sentences

Connects two independent sentences where the first sentence provides the reason for the second.


I forgot my wallet. Therefore, I couldn't buy the book.

It rained. So, the game was canceled.

Note

それで is used to link a cause to its result. It is often used in natural conversation to explain why something happened. It cannot be used when the following sentence is a command, a request, or a suggestion.
